Admiration Theatre are accepting applications from Actors to join our Ensemble.
Our next performance will be an adaptation of
Brecht’s ‘Visions of Simone Marchard’
We will be working physically as an ensemble.
Story: In France in 1940 with the Germany army approaching, the staff of a hotel in central France face impending occupation. Surrounded by resignation and defeatism young Simone experiences ‘visions’ of herself reliving the life of Joan of Arc.
The Germans enter the town and Simone sets fire to the petrol rather than see it fall into enemy hands…
Characters include: Simone Marchard, the Patron of the Hotel, the Mayor, Mrs Soupeau, drivers, sappers
and waiters of the hotel. Most characters have historical counterparts in Simone’s dreams of Joan of Arc.
The first performance will be at Theatro Technis, Crowndale Road, NW1,
9-14 November 2010.
